Cornwall Curling Centre's Closing Bonspiel

Monday April 3 - Friday April 7, 2017

Bonspiel cost: $35

Sign up in the lounge 

This bonspiel is a fun way to wind up the curling season and we finish on Friday with the seasons’s awards and entertainment (Bordertown Catz). The sign-up sheet is at the curling club.  It will be removed Wednesday, March 29.

Cost for the Bonspiel is $35. Extra tickets to the Friday meal will be available for $15. There will be a signup sheet for the meals at the club. Extra meals must be paid for by Wednesday April 5.

Rules: All bonspiel participants are entered in the draw. Must be in attendance to win.  Names will be pulled out of a hat in reverse order; last name drawn wins Grand Prize.  Midway Prize is drawn around 9:30pm and the Grand Prize around 11:00pm.  Additional tickets can be purchased for non-bonspiel participants at a cost of $30 per ticket. 

 

 

Annual Cornwall Ladies Invitation Bonspiel

We had 20 teams that participated in this year’s McDougall-Hunt Insurance Broker Cornwall Ladies Invitational Bonspiel.

The winning team was Russell which was skipped by Jennifer Harvey, Sheri-Lyn Collyer, Julie Bridger and Lise Lalonde.  The final game came down to last rock from team Rideau skipped by Alexis Riordan.

On the A consolation team Cornwall skipped by Mitch Baker defeated another team Cornwall skipped by Kelly Evans.

B event was Charlene Sobering from Rideau defeated Laura Maloney from Hawkesbury.

C event was  Jennifer Langley from Richmond defeated Kelly Wiseman from Hawkesbury.

D event was Diane Greenwood from Richmond defeated Mary Bellemare from Cornwall.

 15th Annual Mixed Bonspiel results 

 

The weekend of November 11-12-13 saw 16 teams enjoy good curling, good food and good entertainment at the Cornwall Curling Centre. Play started on Friday evening and ended on Sunday afternoon with finals in A, B and C events. All finalist teams were rewarded with cash prizes thanks to the sponsorship of Perras DiStefano construction and Design Services and Canadian Cleaning Services. Congrats to Team Hebert the A event champions. There is always more than curling at a Cornwall bonspiel and Saturday evening featured a 3 course dinner with wine, entertainment by Bordertown Catz, and a reverse draw with a grand prize of two 100 level tickets to a Habs game with overnight accommodation. A big thankyou to Troy Lalonde of BMO Wealth Management, Cornwall

The 15th Annual Mixed Invitational Bonspiel Committee would like to invite all members and non members to come down to the club this Saturday, November 12, to join us for supper and a live band. 
Richard is serving up his famous stuffed chicken breast with all the fixings and Bordertown Catz will be playing from 8:30 till 1:00am.
 Supper to be served between 6:30 and 7:00. 
Cost is only $15 per person. Payment when you arrive on Saturday. 
Put your name and how many are coming on the sign up sheet downstairs at the club or reserve by calling Jane McDonald at 613 577 5369. 
Deadline is Thursday afternoon by 4 pm.

Utica Team Wins

Anne Stuhlman's rink from Utica, NY took home the hardware at the ladies Invitational Bonspiel, held at the CCC over the weekend. Hunt Commercial Insurance was a major sponsor. Rideau won the A consolation, with Ottawa taking the B championship. Russell the C and Richmond the D. There were 24 teams at the popular event.

The annual Ryan’s Bonspiel raised over $3,000 in support of the Canadian National Institute for the Blind on Saturday (Mar. 5).
