Team Ontario Send Off Party
Editor: John Wright
It gives me great pleasure to announce that Ontario’s representation at the 2015 Tim Horton’s Brier, Mark Kean, Mat Camm, David Mathers, Scott Howard and Bryan Cochrane will be in attendance for a “Team Ontario Send-Off party” at the Cornwall Curling Centre on Friday February 20th 2015 beginning at 7:30pm.
A limited number of tickets will be sold for the fundraising event which will be highlighted by a meet and greet with the team, a silent auction that includes signed curling memorabilia (brooms, jackets etc), an informal spaghetti dinner cooked by the Chef Boyardee (Richard Bourdeau). Presentations to the team will be made by the OCA and OVCA as well as the Cornwall Curling Centre board of directors. The Ontario Tankard Trophy will be in attendance which is worth the price of admission alone. Come and get your photo taken with the trophy and the team! Also, a busload of Navanites will be in attendance from the Navan curling club coordinated by the one and only Kelly Oka. Media has also been invited to cover the event.
Note to Friday Curlers: This event will run alongside of your regular Friday night curling. You do not have to purchase a ticket to attend the Send-Off and will get a spaghetti dinner at no charge. We encourage you to stick around and enjoy the activities. Donations or pledges to the team are not necessary but would be greatly appreciated as our goal is to raise money for the team in order to offset the cost of transporting their family members to the Brier in Calgary.
Tickets for the event are now on sale for $10 apiece and can be requested by emailing firstname.lastname@example.org or in person through John Wright, Kevin Baker, John Dilabio, Richard Bourdeau, Denis Carter or Scott McDonald. All proceeds go to Team Ontario. If you would like to purchase a block of tickets to resell please contact email@example.com. As the curling centre can only accommodate a finite number of people, these tickets will sell fast. Many non-curling members and dignitaries will be in attendance so please request your tickets as soon as possible. If printed tickets do not sell out, tickets will be sold at the door.
If you cannot attend but would like to make a donation please contact John Wright by email (firstname.lastname@example.org). If you would like to donate a prize for the silent auction, your company/name will be posted as a sponsor for the event. Please email John Wright for more details.
Hope to see you all there! Rumour has it that there could be a Team Kean beer pong match using the tankard trophy.
